This is my first experiment with a podcast, so please bear with me. This should be a mechanism for distributing selected audible NMR spectra along with their visual representations.

My previous postings of audible nmr sounds still resides at www.audiblenmr.org.

Following the same protocols I used to create other audible NMR spectra, I simply used commercially available fragrances as samples. So now you can listen to smells!

The spectrum/audio at the left is essential oil from the flower lily of the valley, which should be blooming in about two or thre months.

(See my zine Protein Structure elsewhere on this site.) There are 20 standard amino acids in proteins, making this set rather like Nature’s alphabet, so it was natural to take the audible NMR spectra of all 20 of them.

The color of each H atom corresponds to its peak in the spectrum, its key on the keyboard, and its note on the musical scale.
